Privacy
Last updated: October 31, 2026. OfferCrew is an early, invite-only beta run by one student developer.
In short: we keep what you put in so the app can help you, we send the text each AI step needs to an AI provider to get an answer, we never sell your information or share it with recruiters or employers, and you can download or delete everything at any time in Settings.
What we keep

We never ask for or keep answers to demographic or equal-opportunity questions (race, gender, disability, veteran status) on application forms.
Who else handles your information
- DeepSeek (an AI company based in China) receives the text each AI feature needs (for example, your story and the question when grading an answer, or your profile and a job posting when tailoring a resume) and sends back an answer. DeepSeek's own privacy policy applies to what it receives. Please don't put anything in OfferCrew you wouldn't want processed this way.
- Our relay on Cloudflare passes those requests to DeepSeek and to the services below, and keeps only counts of calls and cost per account, not your text.
- Tavily and Serper (web search) receive search queries, such as a company name with "interview questions", when you research a company or look for jobs.
- Hunter.io receives a company's web domain and a person's name when you look up a contact's work email.
- AssemblyAI receives the recording of a spoken mock-interview answer to transcribe it. The transcript is deleted from AssemblyAI as soon as it's read.
- Fly.io hosts the website and its database in the United States (Chicago).
- In your browser only: the interviewer's natural voice runs on your own computer. Its model downloads once from Hugging Face, which sees your IP address like any website. If you use 🎤 voice typing, your browser's built-in speech recognition may send your audio to your browser's maker (for example, Google for Chrome).
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, we don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with employers, recruiters or schools.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete my account), your data is removed from the database right away. Copies in our daily backups expire within 14 days.
Your choices
- See and download everything we keep about you: Settings → Download all my data.
- Correct it: edit your profile, stories and jobs in the app at any time.
- Delete it: Settings → Delete my account.
- Ask us anything about your data: yulinhuang17@gmail.com.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as salted hashes, the database disk is encrypted, and each person's data is kept separate from everyone else's. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we'll tell you by email.
Age
OfferCrew is for college students and recent graduates. Don't use it if you're under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
